Healthy Ultra-Low Pressure

All Sleep Surfaces are NOT Created Equal

Typical mattress designs on the market today, whether constructed with traditional springs, or specialty NASA foam material, or even so-called adjustable airbeds, are incapable of effectively equalizing the pressure (from gravity) that the mattress exerts on the body.

They create high pressure spots on the body’s prominences, particularly the hips, thighs, buttocks and shoulder areas.

These areas of high pressure are particularly pronounced when side-lying. This is because the body weight is distributed over a smaller body-surface area than when back-lying. Also, the curvatures of the hip and shoulder against the mattress are usually more pronounced in side-lying position.

PRESSURE: A Key Difference that Can be Felt and Seen

Actual Pressure Maps: We test pressures exerted against the body with scientific “pressure mapping” instruments and computers. Following are actual pressure map images of 3 different competitor's mattresses versus NightCare. These tests were taken with the same person in a side-lying position (head on the left, feet on the right side of the image).

ORANGE and RED areas are NOT GOOD. They are areas of high and very high pressure on the body, and commonly referred to as pressure hot spots. NightCare’s technology, shown in the lower right hand quadrant, achieves and demonstrates its major pressure reductions. This means less tossing and turning caused by your bed, and a richer, more restful sleep as a result.

No One "Takes the Pressure Off" Like We Do

NightCare with its patented internal contouring/low pressure technology has significantly lowered peak pressures below the scientific level that generally disrupts and disturbs sleep. The ischemic pressure level is a medical threshold level, above which is recognized to cause or aggravate tossing and turning. NightCare is the only company whose mattresses have this patented technology and consistently overcome this long-standing barrier to healthy, restful sleep!

The Consequences of High (RED) Pressure

During sleep, mattress and pillow pressures can restrict blood flow in our skin’s capillaries and result in tossing and turning (average 40-70 times per night). This happens because blood circulation is restricted at the high pressure areas against the mattress, and the brain signals the body to turn.

This tossing and turning throughout the night awakens the body to a degree and pulls it temporarily out of whatever stage of sleep the body happens to be in. This, in turn, diminishes the healing, restorative and rejuvenate power of the sleep throughout the night, and results in a lowering of sleep quality. It's this same pressure against the body that can cause pressure sores and pressure ulcers to develop.

"I Get 8 Hours of Sleep, yet I always feel tired"

You may think you're getting a sufficient number of hours of sleep, but interruptions to your sleep caused by tossing and turning, or any other factor, reduce your sleep quality and can cause an increase in any sleep deficit you may have. The fact is, whatever the number of hours of sleep you are getting, sleep interruptions can leave you with diminished sleep quality and the resulting consequences to energy, health, performance, well-being and spirit. The Bottom Line on Pressure

For your best and healthiest sleep, avoid mattresses that exert RED and Orange pressure points on the body during sleep, whenever possible. Your perfect mattress should provide ultra-low pressure performance. We have not yet found or tested any commercially-available mattress or mattress brand—other than NightCare—that meets this criteria. See our advanced, low pressure Z-Series mattress line with NightCare Technology in our Online Store. Select your perfect bed.
